The making of a maker space…
Our team designed the new makerspace housing 3D printers, CNC mills, and fiber optics equipment for students to fabricate their projects. Unlike a maker space that I was familiar with, the needs of the Physics students were vastly different, involving fiber optic “breadboards” and other tools. After better understanding the fiber optics experiments being conducted by interviewing Physics students, we had a better understanding of the space, lighting, and ventilation requirements.
